We are really getting into the swing of learning this week!
Number Corner: Days of the week and Months of the year How can you help at home? Talk about the date. Talk about what MONTH your child's birthday is in. Grammar: Nouns How can you help at home? When reading at night, ask your student what was the noun in a sentence. Was is a person? A place? A thing? An animal? An idea? Math: Classifying objects by attribute How can you help at home? When cleaning their room or sorting their clothes, ask your student to sort by color of object, size of object, or purpose of object. ELA: Letters Y, K, Z, T, A, P, L, D, J How can you help at home? Ask your student to find these letters on a page when reading. I encourage students to bring water bottles ot class. Water is great for the brain. Bottles filled with water may be kept on the back counter for access during class and wiggle breaks. Bottles filled with juice, milk, or flavored water will be kept aside for snack recess or lunch. This class is really impressing me with how well they are learning the classroom/school procedures and rules. This has meant we can spend more time learning (which will pay off in the long run) and having fun (which is just cool). If you have not signed up a parent/teacher conference on Class Tag, please do so. Our district requires me to meet with every family so if the available times do not work please let me know and I will work with you to find an alternative time. We still need a Class Parent. If you are interested in this role, please email me.
