Families are encouraged to wear costumes to the festival but the school rules for dress up days apply: no full-faced masks, no weapons, shoes must be worn, and be respectful that their are little ones at the event so don't be too scary. Speaking of too scary. Kalvin and I went to see The House With a Clock in the Walls this weekend. There were parts of the movie that were honestly pretty creepy. I just thought I would warn you because the rating is PG. I am surprised it was not PG13. Harvest Festival will be the whole-school focus for the next two weeks. Be patient if we bombard you with messages about the festival. I promise, it will die down a bit after the Festival. We truly are desperate for volunteers. Also, please feel free to communicate why you can't volunteer so I can communicate feedback to the PTO in order to improve their process next year (for example: "I feel an hour is too long", "I have too many events that night", "We aren't able to attend").
I have ordered the Tupperware for our basket. Thank you to all who donated! There are still items up for donation on the music/p.e. basket. Note that those are also just suggestions; if you would like to donate something else that ties in to the theme, I am sure it would be welcome! THANK YOU!!! To the parents that cut out shapes last week for our Pete The Cat shape project. I know the pieces were tiny... I promise they won't always be that tedious. Your diligence was appreciated and our art projects look so cute! They will be on display during parent/teacher conferences. Speaking of conferences... don't forget we are out at 12 O'CLOCK next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Busses will run and YMCA Club will be open. Library books need to return to school Wednesday morning. What we are working on: Number Corner: Shapes, Patterns, Number Sequence (con't) Explain reasoning for answers. How can you help at home? Bottles filled with water may be kept on the back counter for access during class and wiggle breaks. Bottles filled with juice, milk, or flavored water will be kept aside for snack recess or lunch. This class is really impressing me with how well they are learning the classroom/school procedures and rules. This has meant we can spend more time learning (which will pay off in the long run) and having fun (which is just cool). If you have not signed up a parent/teacher conference on Class Tag, please do so. Our district requires me to meet with every family so if the available times do not work please let me know and I will work with you to find an alternative time. We still need a Class Parent. If you are interested in this role, please email me. Welcome back!!!! I hope everyone had a good break!
